Edrick  D. Rhodes

 

Chairman, Performing Arts Dept.

Director of Bands



mrrhodescaslookMr. Rhodes is currently the Director of Bands and the Chairman of the Performing Arts Department at the West Boca High School.  With his program at West Boca he has received Straight Superiors ratings in all facets of the program, including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensembles along with Superior ratings at the State Level with both concert bands and Jazz Band.  Prior to opening to West Boca High School in 2004, Mr. Rhodes had four successful years as Director of Bands at Olympic Heights High School and two successful years at Homestead High School.

 

Mr. Rhodes is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Administration from NOVA Southeastern University.  He also received his Masters Degree in Music Education in the summer 2004 from the University of Central Florida and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami.

 

In addition to his work at West Boca, Mr. Rhodes is also an adjudicator for Heritage Festivals. He is a member of Florida Bandmasters Association, Music Educators National Conference, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.

 

Mr. Rhodes comes from a family of music educators. His father, Herbert Rhodes, was a band director for 33 years along with his two uncles, Ferris and Edwin Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes' brother, Herbert Rhodes, Jr., has been a band director for 14 years.
